Dr. Oleksandr Turchak is a doctor providing care to civilians injured in the war or suffering other medical emergencies. After working a full shift at his hospital or in an ambulance service, he spent extra hours personally delivering medicine to civilians unable to move from their homes because of ongoing Russian bombardments.

While on one such errand, a Russian missile landed within meters of his vehicle, totally destroying it and severely injuring Dr. Turchak.

Unable to pay for the necessary surgery, he turned to the Foundation, which paid all his medical bills, allowing the good doctor to quickly resume his courageous and life-saving work.
