A citizen of both Canada and the United Kingdom, Crispian has called Eastern Europe — and most recently Ukraine — his home and place of work for more than 30 years.
Trained as a corporate lawyer, he has led some of the most significant privatization and M&A transactions across Eastern Europe, working in industries ranging from banking and energy to telecommunications and retail.

Over the course of his three-decade career, Crispian served as a partner at three major law firms: Stikeman Elliott, one of Canada’s leading firms; CMS, Europe’s largest law firm; and his own practice, Hayhurst & Partners, which he founded in 1998 and later merged with CMS in 2006.
Today, Crispian brings the same energy, dedication, and belief in making a difference to our Foundation as he did throughout his legal career — and he intends to continue this commitment for many years to come.
